Blowin’ In the Wind (Vet School Version)

When I think about vet school, I think……protest songs.  That’s where this one came from, around the end of second year, possibly third year.  I’m sure some of the themes of vet school haven’t changed even though I’ve been out almost twenty years and this song’s themes date back even farther.  As usual, the staff of Barclasion Music continue to put out high-quality work!  Our Peter, Paul, and Mary for this rendition are actually Rick, Paul, and Gina as in Rick Barclay, Paul Needles, and Gina Lewandowski.  Musical arrangement and production by Rick Barclay.  Lyrics by Dean Scott.  Enjoy!

Lyrics

How many times have we been told, we’re in the best curriculum,
How many hours have we sat in class, lectured at ad nauseum,
How many labs that we’ve stayed awake through, our butts and brains going numb,
The answer my friend is blowing in the wind, The answer is blowing in the wind.

How many times will we be ignored, even when we’re asked our opinion,
How many times must we work for no money, when our income is already thin,
And how many professors would still be around, if they had to be voted in,
The answer my friend is blowing in the wind, The answer is blowing in the wind.

How many choices in the whole real world, come down to A, B, or E,
How many times must we hear “the big picture”, before we finally see,
And how much of our lives must be sacrificed, before we’re allowed to be free,
The answer my friend is blowing in the wind, The answer is blowing in the wind.
The answer is blowing in the wind.
